Homemade Quinoa Baby Cereal (Print Version)

01 - 1 cup water, low sodium broth, or bone broth
02 - 1/2 cup quinoa
03 - Additional liquid for blending

# Instructions:

01 - In a small saucepan, bring the liquid to a boil. Add quinoa and stir. Reduce to a simmer, cover and cook for 12 minutes. Take off heat and let sit for 5 minutes.
02 - Transfer the quinoa to a blender or food processor and puree for 2 minutes for a completely smooth puree or pulse for 1 minute for a chunky puree. If the puree is too thick, add additional liquid, starting with 1/4 cup at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
03 - Let cool and serve immediately to the baby, or spoon into a storage tray and freeze for future use.

# Notes:

01 - You can add spices such as cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, allspice, or pumpkin pie spice to the puree while blending for additional flavor.
02 - A trio blend of quinoa was used for this recipe, but any color quinoa is suitable.
03 - Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 4 months.
