Banana Cherry Beet Puree (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 3 medium bananas
02 - 2/3 cup cherries, fresh or frozen, pitted
03 - 1/4 cup red beets, peeled and finely chopped
04 - 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

# Instructions:

01 - In a medium saucepan, bring 2 inches of water to a boil. Place the beets into a steamer basket, set it over the boiling water, cover, and steam for 7 minutes or until the beets are tender when pierced with a fork.
02 - If using frozen cherries, add them on top of the steamed beets, cover, and steam for an additional 3 minutes. Let them cool slightly and reserve the steaming water.
03 - Place the cooked beets, cherries, bananas, and fresh lemon juice into a blender or food processor. Puree on high for 1-2 minutes or until completely smooth. If necessary, thin the puree by adding 1 tablespoon of the reserved steaming water at a time until the desired consistency is reached.

# Notes:

01 - Suitable for babies aged 7 months and up. Can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 4 months.
